Welcome to our blog! I want to use this as an opportunity to create an on-going "scrapbook" of our family. I am also hoping to use this as a way to keep our family and friends updated on the latest of what is happening in our crazy little household!

Sick Kamryn and 39 Weeks

We are still here - pregnant as ever! And I have to say that this has been the biggest blessing that we could have asked for actually. On Tuesday, Kamryn started with a very little cough. Now to most, this is no big deal and nothing to worry about, but for our Kam, this is only the start of atleast a week long battle some with pretty icky head and chest stuff. To say the least, Paul and I were on pins and needles trying to decide the best way to handle this seeing that I could be giving birth at literally any moment! :)
So as we suspected, Kam's cough progressed and finally on thursday, after a night of being up coughing, I called in and took Little miss to the doctor. Thank goodness our doctor noticed that this is the very same thing that we had exactly a month ago and prescribed the same round of antibiotics, steroids and nebulizer treatments that worked so well then. I was so relieved. I felt like we were on the way to recovery - and still no baby!
However, as Thursday progressed, so did her cough and her fever and her somber demeanor. Thursday night was terribly long and as parents, we sat with the feeling of truly not knowing what to do to help our daughter. To make things more exciting, neither Paul nor I really could miss work and our fabulous grandma and nana were both busy and unable to help. So we compromised - I would work in the morning and Paul in the afternoon. Under any other circumstances, I would have stayed home all day, but seeing that I will be gone from school for a few weeks due to a maternity leave soon, I felt like I needed to get to school and finalize some plans and clean up from previous subs. Any woo, to make a long story short(er), Friday morning, Kam was still not herself, still running a fever and still coughing like crazy. Paul and I were both thinking that the next step was the hospital if we couldn't get it figured out. By Friday afternoon, after another does of antibiotic, sparks of Kamryn were starting to show. We took a bath, ate a rice cake, and then she FINALLY took a nap - one that lasted a couple hours and wasn't interrupted every minute by a coughing spell. It was amazing and so needed! When Kam woke up, you could tell she was starting to feeling better. I was so thankful! She even said, "I didn't cough!" As the night went on she got better - nana and papa even visited us for a little bit! We all had a pretty good night's sleep Friday night! YAY! I didn't even care that she woke up super early and wanted cereal! We felt like a million bucks after all that sleep! Just in time for a newborn to join our household, I was thankful to steal any sleep I could!
And still no baby - I am sure that our little bundle (who is growing more and more every second) was thinking that there is no way she was coming out in the middle of all that mess. In fact, she might have decided to stick it out until we force her out! This is fine with me, in fact, we could use a relaxing weekend of football and yummy food and a little more sleep! :)
We will be ready for her though! And her big sister will be ready and healthy as well! YAY! Will the next post be a baby post? She sure is ready to spill the beans on her NAME! :)
