Before I blog about January, I need to recap all of the wonderful accomplishments that Miss Kamryn did over Winter Break! She is SUCH a big girl.

First, we have been working on potty training for the past few months, but we decided to hit it really hard while we were home for Christmas break - and we were successful! Kamryn is pretty much completely potty trained - except for #2 sometimes, that is really throwing us off.

We also got rid of the paci! Yes, she still used a pacifier at night time and to be honest, this was probably the hardest thing I have done as a parent thus far! It was such a source of comfort to her and it literally broke her heart not to have it. We started by simply taking it away on the first night. She was crying and screaming so hard for so long that she practically started hyperventilating and making her self sick. I was balling and Paul was just plain mad! So we decided that each night we would just cut a bit of the nipple away and hopefully she would not want it anymore. It took less than a week and finally after a debate every night, Kamryn decided on her own that she did not want or need a paci any more. And she hasn't used it since! She has asked about it, but it never lasts too long.

And finally, we turned Kamryn's crib into a toddler bed! She LOVES it so much! We had really been struggling with her to even want to go to bed - even before we took paci away. She wanted to sleep in our bed - with or without us. So we thought that maybe it was time to try a big girl bed. That and the fact that she could swing her leg over the side of the crib and jump out on her own! :) Doesn't she look like an angel! :)
We also had our first snow of the year this week! This meant that we finally got to use the sled that Santa got for us!
Daddy and Kamryn ready to hit the slopes!
All bundled up!
And of course, we had to make a batch of muffins as well. Miss Kam loves to help in the kitchen - could it be that she just really loves to lick the spoons? :)
